ABOUT STARSKY

The Starsky team is a dedicated group of truck drivers, engineers and business folks. We have a playful, collaborative, and inclusive culture, and we love to host impromptu game nights, Bob Ross painting sessions, and trips to the Exploratorium.

EMPLOYEE HIGHLIGHT

MAKING AN IMPACT

LEO ORENSTEIN

Leo is a Controls Engineer with 5+ years of experience on transportation. He is currently responsible for making sure that Starsky's trucks are within inches of its tracks, bringing his expertise that range from controlling trains with hundreds of wagons and weighting over 20000 tons to building tools for development of safety critical avionics. Passionate about food, Leo left behind the steakhouses of his sunny home in Rio de Janeiro and can now be found planning (or cooking) his next meal in San Francisco.

MAKING AN IMPACT

REBECCA FEENEY BARRY

Rebecca grew up in Ireland and started at Starsky in 2017. In the intervening two years, she has worked on the behavior planning layer of the system, which is responsible for the truck's high level decisions (like when to change lanes, or what to do when there is a system failure). This is a big change from what she was doing before, as she majored in physics and astrophysics, and then spent time in the low carbon energy industry. Rebecca loves working with the fantastic team at Starsky, making a real product that will solve tangible and urgent problems in the trucking industry.

MAKING AN IMPACT

NANDHINI BOTTA

Nandhini is an Electrical Hardware Engineer for Starsky and works on adapting the truck hardware to be autonomous without interfering with the built-in safety mechanism of the truck. She completed her Masters in Electrical Engineering from University of Florida (Go Gators!) before working for 4+ years in developing hardware for new drilling technologies. In her own words, "The main reason I work for Starsky is the supportive and collaborative work culture that Starsky encourages to solve a challenging but achievable problem. The company lets me take complete ownership of my work, and the dog-friendly culture is an added bonus!"
